Athletes in competition - history of AMOCAD
History

Created in 2014, in service of sport

The Mozambican Anti-Doping Agency (AMOCAD, IP) was created in 2014 by government regulation, with the mandate to apply in Mozambique the standards of the World Anti-Doping Code of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).

Since then, AMOCAD has been structuring the national anti-doping control system, in coordination with the Ministry of Sport and Culture, the Mozambican Olympic Committee and national sports federations.

Over the years, the agency has consolidated sample collection processes, results management and preventive education, following the annual updates of the list of prohibited substances and methods published by WADA.
